Covenant House/CHAI Apartments provides 432 subsidized apartment units for senior adults and the mobility-impaired on the I.E. Millstone Jewish Community Campus. The facilities are sponsored by the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, Jewish Community Center of St. Louis, B'nai B'rith Council and Jewish Center for Aged. Community Housing Management Corporation manages the facilities and administers many support services provided by Community Aging Corporation (CAC), a charitable social service agency established to meet the needs of the housing's elderly population. CAC's services include: case management and information and referrals, housekeeping and chore services, access to weekly grocery store shuttle and monthly shuttle to Walmart, shopping and escort assistance, limited transportation assistance, weekend and holiday home-delivered meals, social, recreational and educational programs, beauty shop, library and computer center, chapel, health promotion programs, health screenings and part-time podiatrist. Kosher meals, social programs and Adult Day Care are offered within the complex by the JCC. Also offered on premises are physical and occupational therapy services provided by Rehab Professionals, Inc. and banking services provided by Royal Banks of Missouri. esidents must be at least 62 years old and/or mobility impaired and meet the income requirements of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Rent at Covenant/CHAI is generally 30 percent of the tenant's income. Howard Loiterstein is President.
