Congregation B’nai Amoona’s annual Lynn Myers Memorial Mitzvah Day drew more than 250 participants on Jan. 20 to participate in a dozen mitzvah projects. The annual event honors the memory of Lynn Myers and recognizes one congregation member who embodies Myers’ can-do spirit and willingness to help others. This year’s honoree—the “Mitzvah Mensch—was Ed Balk. Rabbi Carnie Rose and Gary Myers presented Balk with a special cape during Mitzvah Day 5779 opening ceremonies. Then, 12 groups went to work.
