NCJW Back to School! Store

NCJW held its annual Back to School! Store at Temple Israel on July 29. Hundreds of volunteers helped provide 1,400 children with clothes, backpacks, school supplies and personal items to get ready for the school year.

The 5th Annual Men’s Event supporting NCJW’s Back to School! Store will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at Lester’s Restaurant and Sports Bar, 9906 Clayton Road. Guests can watch the Cardinals take on the New York Mets, mingle with friends, check out silent auction items and help underserved kids in the community get ready for school.

This year’s co-chairs of the Men’s Event are Mark Gubernik, Kevin Hinz and Irl Scissors, all of whom are longtime Back to School! Store volunteers.

The cost to attend is $50, which includes drinks and appetizers. There are also sponsorship opportunities: $100 to sponsor the event (which includes event admission), $180 to sponsor a child at the Back to School! Store, and $230 to sponsor a child and event admission.

The Back-to-School! Store serves more than 1,500 children, allowing them to select  back-to-school necessities, including a brand new school outfit (with shirt, pants, shoes, socks, underwear, winter coat, gloves and hat) and a backpack filled with school supplies, books and a variety of personal care items.
