J calls for volunteers in advance of Winter Used Book Sale

JCC Winter Used Book Sale

Patrons puruse the Jewish Community Center’s Winter Used Book Sale, 2016.

The Jewish Community Center is seeking volunteers to help sort donated books and ready them for sale in advance of the Winter Used Book Sale in January.

Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the new marking location, Midwest Library Services, 11443 St. Charles Rock Road. No heavy lifting is involved. The book sale is seeking people who can volunteer an hour or two or more each week. Orientation will be provided.

The J is also calling for donations of books for its Winter Sale. Books can be dropped off at the J’s Arts & Education Building, 2 Millstone Campus Drive in Creve Coeur Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Books need to be in good condition and can be in any category. The Used Book Sale will not accept encyclopedias or textbooks if they are more than five years old.

The Winter Used Book Sale will take place Jan. 26-30. The sale will start with a Preview Day on Sunday, Jan 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Preview Day is the only day with an admission charge ($10 at the door). The sale continues from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday, Jan. 27-29. The sale closes on Thursday, Jan. 30 with Bag Day (guests can fill a bag for $5), from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
