A couple of big developments have taken place at institutions on the I.E. Millstone Campus near Creve Coeur.
For starters, the St. Louis Holocaust Museum and Learning Center, which is scheduled to undergo significant renovations and an expansion after major fundraising, received a $750,000 challenge grant Monday from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). According to the NEH, this is one of its largest-ever grants for a Holocaust-related project and one of fewer than 10 grants of this magnitude in Missouri.
On Jan. 27, Jewish Federation of St. Louis will host a public event to detail how this grant will help the museum to continue its mission and expand it for the next 25 years. Stay tuned for details.
And in other news, caterer Jon Rubin has become executive chef of the J’s nutrition kitchen and will offer full-service catering services for the community’s special events, both at the J and off-site. He will also prepare meals for the Adult Day Center and Early Childhood Center.
Robin Rickerman, director of food service and events manager at the J, will continue to book and help plan all food-related and special events, and Rubin will do the catering and food preparation.
To find out more or to book an event with Rubin and the J, call Rickerman at 314-442-3275.
